Okay, so. I flaked on Days of Awesome this year, because I'm overwhelmed. But all week I've been getting thanks for previous years' Days of Awesome stories, and it's making me feel guilty. (Appropriately!)

So here, have the instaquick delayed Days of Awesome. Hey, it's still the days of awe, right? Right?

Post as many or as few stories as you want, of any length, at the AO3 Days of Awesome 2011 collection between now and October 20th; stories will be hidden. On October 20th, I'll reveal the stories. On October 30th, I'll reveal the authors.

Happy New Year Everybodeeeeee! (To properly get the effect of that, imagine me yodeling it in my Gonzo voice while waving my arms as if they were, well, Gonzo's, throwing confetti in the air.)

Guys! We're up to ten stories, and we still have another week to go. We are clearly smack in the middle of the DAYS OF AWESOME, are we not?

Several of these are for the simultaneous Days of Awesome and Eid Ka Chand challenges (the latter of which helped raise money for disaster recovery in Pakistan).

rydra_wong initiated a Jewish/Muslim character prompt -a-thon:

This is entirely unofficial and ad-hoc. But if you've got a brilliant idea featuring a Jewish character and a Muslim character you'd like to see interacting, please leave it! And if you see a prompt and are inspired to write/vid/make art, run with it!

Signal boosting is fun! Leave prompts, and if you write such a story, and it otherwise fits the rules of the two communities, go ahead and post to Eid ka chand's and Days of awesome's collections.

And remember, our 30 day challenge starts on August 18!

This year the challenge will be run out of the Archive of our Own (AO3). If you don't have an AO3 account, you can request one.

AO3 provides a handy-dandy tutorial in posting a story to a collection, but the process is pretty easy. In fact, here's a link to post directly to the collection.

This year I'm doing things a little differently. There's still seven-item prompt tables to choose from, but posting is open for a full month, from August 18 until the end of the Days of Awe, September 18. Between the number of participants who celebrate the High Holidays, and the beginning of the school year, too many people found the old posting schedule unmanageable. As always, try for seven but fewer is fine!

I've made collections on the Archive of our Own for the previous 3 years' challenges. Feel free to file your old Days of Awesome Stories into the appropriate collections. (They're named "daysofawesome2007", "daysofawesome2008", and "daysofawesome2009".)
